Help us save a life
Support, welcome, and hope for women in the process of rebuilding

It is the power to live differently.
— Timothy Keller
LET’S LOOK AT THE DATA……
In Brazil, 3.7 million women experienced some form of domestic violence
in 2025, according to DataSenado.
In 71% of cases, children were present during the assaults.
Femicide reached a new record in 2024,
and 81% of violence occurs inside the home,
the place that should be the safest.
Most women never request a protective order.
Many don’t know they have that right.
Others simply have nowhere to go.
- 62% of victims never requested a protective order.
(DataSenado, 2025) - 1,561 femicides in 2025 — more than 4 per day.
(MJSP, 2026) - 1 in 4 victims was between 0 and 14 years old.

EVERY CONTRIBUTION PLANTS A NEW STORY
Behind every woman who arrives at Viveiro da Promessa, there is
a story of courage, and a real gap that can only be filled by
those who believe things can be different.
We don’t need grand gestures:
we need people committed to the dignity of those who have
nowhere to go.
Your contribution funds shelter, guidance, and hope… things
no woman should ever have to wait for.

.
WHAT WE DO
Associação Viveiro da Promessa welcomes women in situations
of domestic violence, together with their children, offering
a safe space where they can recover, rebuild their lives,
and reclaim their path with dignity.
The program is structured to offer up to 90 days of housing,
psychosocial support, referrals to the protection network,
and skill-building activities.
We care for one family at a time, with individualized
attention and a commitment to the integrity of each story.
You may be arriving here without knowing what to expect.
We’re building too, brick by brick, faith by faith.
What we can offer today is real presence: someone who
listens without judgment, spiritual guidance for the days
when nothing seems to make sense, and a growing network
that includes food, clothing, housing, and shelter for you
and your children.
We don’t have everything yet.
But we have the beginning,
and beginnings matter.
YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
LEARN HOW TO PARTNER WITH US
Viveiro da Promessa (which translated into English is roughly Nursery of the Promise)
is a Christian shelter supporting women
and children escaping domestic violence in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
This page is for those who want to understand our work, see how support
is used, and become part of this story.
You’ll notice that most of our website, over 100 in-depth articles,
is written in Portuguese. That’s intentional.
Resources on domestic violence, trauma recovery, and biblical
counsel are widely available in English.
In Portuguese, theyare not.
Portuguese is spoken as an official language in 9 countries,
home to over 300 million people worldwide,
yet resources like ours remain rare.
Brazilian women searching for help in their own
language often find very little, which is exactly the gap
this ministry was built to fill.
This page, and the pages that follow, are here for you:
our English-speaking partners, donors, and friends who want to
understand and support this work.
